Get Involved … Combined Efforts Theatre
Like to combine your efforts with those of Combined Efforts Theater? There are many opportunities to do so.
Audition. Do you have experience (or aspirations) as an actor? Check out this Website from time to time for auditions. When future productions are coming up there will be a notice on the opening Website page, as well as on the “Get Involved,” “Productions,” and “News for Journalists” pages.
Contributions. You can make a tax deductible contribution by check to Combined Efforts Theater, P.O. Box 89, Iowa City IA 52240-0089. Ms. Schlapkohl, staff, cast and crew all donate their time and talent. However, even though there is no payroll, productions like those of Combined Efforts Theater do incur significant expenses (e.g., rental of facilities and chairs, building sets, buying or renting costumes, sound and lighting equipment, etc.) Because Combined Efforts Theater likes to keep its ticket prices sufficiently low that no one is discouraged from attending for financial reasons, it is dependent upon gifts and donations from supporters. And because it is now a Section 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, your contribution is tax deductible.
Volunteer. Actors aren’t the only ones who participate in a Combined Efforts Theater production. With no paid staff, it is heavily dependent on a growing group of dedicated volunteers. We need crew, co-directors, stage managers, set designers and builders, and volunteers to provide transportation for cast and crew, plan post production cast parties, find costumes and props, help with promotion and publicity — in short, every task associated with any quality theater troupe.
